We’re taking this year to walk in your shoes — the LMS administrator. Empathy for the user has led to Wisetail’s awesome front-end design and intuitive user experience. And now we’re bringing that same insight to the redesign of our LMS admin tools. That’s right. We’re ready to unveil a brand new admin experience just for you at APEX5.

We committed to developing a new platform, that you’ll love using. We committed to simplifying the complex. We committed to you, the admin.

You Run the Show

In our commitment to you, we let you set the agenda. We listened during Wisetail On The Road, double-checked with a survey, and now we’re set to deal with challenges specific to you and your business. We’ll utilize our community’s expertise to solve your most vexing problems, like engaging part-time and hourly employees and approaches to encourage sharing and transparency within your LMS. We want you to walk away with lessons and tactics you can apply right away. We’re excited for our clients to exchange ideas and make this APEX conference the best yet. It’s all about you, the admin, and helping you implement a successful L&D strategy.

We’ll start off with a panel discussion about how your LMS design can improve user experience and boost engagement. Wisetail experts will go through site-building techniques, content planning and organization, and widget arrangements that are both visually appealing and intuitive. Because when it’s easy to use, people will.

We’ll move to the Ballroom to warm up our brains and mingle during Wisetail speed dating! We’ll hop from table to table sharing and discussing a range of questions in nine quick fire rounds. Both light-hearted and thought-provoking, topics run the gamut from your most “viral” training videos to your biggest training challenges.

3.30PM: DIY Bite-Sized Videos: tools & techniques to create videos perfect for the YouTube generation

Short videos are one of the best ways to reach millennials—just look at the hundreds of millions of views Buzzfeed’s “Tasty” videos have garnered. Our video pros Madison & Nick show you the way through video creation: from pre- all the way through post-production and avenues for delivery. Don’t be intimidated, this is a video session for NON-videographers!

10.15AM: PRODUCT LAUNCH: Why We Did It, Our Goals, The Trail Map

Josh and Moriah, Lead Product Development and Lead User Experience, respectively, will bring the new admin tools to life. They’ll demonstrate the exciting new features we built for you — a configurable dashboard, revamped content authoring and permissioning, wholly re-imagined user management, to name a few. Their talk sets the stage for you to start thinking about how to use the new admin tools so you can get the most out of the afternoon breakout sessions. And they’ll explain the new tool’s connection to the Appalachian Trail.

11.15AM: NEW PRODUCT DEMO

Not dissimilar to the CoLab experience, we’ll build a site from ground up, demonstrating new features and the improved admin experience. Moderated questions will be taken from the floor as we go. This is your chance to see first-hand just how far the new product goes and ask questions to the Dev team behind it and CX team that will guide you on your way to implementing it successfully.

Want to learn how to better handle compliance? Maybe you’re interested in the specific roles you can assign to other LMS admins? Curious as to how the new admin tool lets you design your own dashboard? What about how to master content authoring? Or perhaps how to drive engagement with all the new features and functionalities at your fingertips?

 

1.45PM: CLOSING REMARKS

We’ll move from The Emerson Cultural Center to Wisetail HQ for the remainder of the afternoon and evening. Find a new friend or colleague and stroll down Main Street to North Wallace Ave. We’ll meet you back at the Wisetail office!

 

3.00PM: DEMOFEST: Client Show & Tell | WISETAIL HQ

A range of clients will be available to lead you through their sites. Visit with other admins to discuss everything from first setup, to launch and ongoing management of their Wisetail LMS’s. This is your chance to talk first-hand with the admins who actually manage the sites the we Wisetailers are usually sharing!

4.30PM: DRINKS, DINNER & SOCIALIZING | WISETAIL HQ

Demos will slip seamlessly into another Bozeman cocktail hour and dinner. A few of our favorite food trucks will gather around the Wisetail HQ by the heart of the downtown trail system.

Apex5 is, as always, free to attend.

All you need to do is get to beautiful Bozeman and make sure you have a place to stay! Details on travel, accommodation, getting around town, and helpful hints on packing can all be found below.

ACCOMMODATION

We’ve negotiated special rates at two hotels, the Element and Hilton Garden Inn. These special rates expire on Sept. 8 for the Hilton Garden Inn and Oct. 1 for the Element. Please mention ‘Wisetail APEX5’ when booking.

If you plan to get in early or stay longer, please contact Jill Brewster or Lindsey Foote at the Element directly to secure the Wisetail APEX5 rate.

TRAVEL & GETTING AROUND

Our airport is Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport.

We recommend Uber to get around town, as well as for airport pick-ups and drop-offs. If you’d prefer a car, or plan to hang around beyond the event, all major rental car companies operate from the airport. Downtown Bozeman is highly walkable.

PACKING TIPS

October weather is variable and wonderfully unpredictable! We recommend being prepared for cold nights: bring a jacket and a few more layers than you might think. If you’re adventuring please make sure to bring sporting shoes and pants that you can move in.

This year the two evenings are both smart-casual parties. Regular ties are optional — bolo ties are encouraged.
